Aileen Joan Haight found peace when she was called by the Lord on August 17, 2013.

Born October 11, 1930 to Aaron and Hazel Hays, she was a native of Dundee, New York. Aileen graduated from Freemans Business School of Geneva, New York and worked for several companies as a bookkeeper until the children were born.

Richard and Aileen were childhood friends. After Richard got out of the army and college they got married on January 5, 1952. Richard's job took them to Pease AFB in New Hampshire and on to Langley AFB in 1962. During their 61 years together, they raised four children and traveled throughout the United States and Europe.

Aileen was a devoted member of Buckroe Beach United Methodist church where she gave the church her time and talents by teaching Sunday school, being the church treasurer and working with the United Methodist Women. She continued to use these gifts when Buckroe merged with First Church Fox Hill.

She is survived by her husband Richard Haight; her sisters, Greeba Conklins of Watkins Glenn, New York, and Jennetta Crocker of Bath, New York; and her children, Keith Haight and his wife, Bettie, Brian Haight, Lisa Haight, and Glenn Haight. Aileen had seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, August 25, 2013 at 2 o'clock p.m. at First United Methodist Church Fox Hill, 1 Salt Pond Road, Hampton, Virginia. Pastor Brian Sixbey and Pastor Tommy Markham will be officiating. Family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church Fox Hill, building fund.
