Abner Ray Keever, 79, died Wednesday, August 20, 2014. Born in Lincolnton, NC he had been a Hampton resident for most of his life. Abner had served in the Army and worked in the shipyard as a sheetmetal worker. He was a Christian and loved the Lord. Abner is survived by his wife, Patsy Keever; daughters, Patricia Goodhart and husband Glen, Donna Langille, and Sharon Fladger and husband Reggie; sisters, Clafton Morris and Louise McRae; brother, Everett Blair; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend special thanks to Medi Home Health and Hospice, and The HVAMC Palliative Care especially nurse Sherry Windley. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 23, 2014 by Rev. Wesley Lambert in Parklawn Memorial Park. Arrangements by R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home.
